Shannon School of Aeronautics instructors are qualified to instruct students toward a Commercial License.
The Commercial Pilot Certificate allows a pilot to fly for compensation, in short the pilot can now fly for hire. This certificate opens the door for a career as a professional pilot. The requirements for a Commercial Pilot Certificate are: hold at least a Private Pilot License (PPL), obtain a second class medical or higher. A minimum of 250 hours of total flight time, including 100 hours of PIC, and 50 hours of cross country flight time. Applicants will also need at least 10 hours of instrument training and 10 hours in a complex aircraft. It is advised that students get their instrument rating prior to their commercial, as without it, certain restrictions are set in place.
Some fortunate individuals find themselves in the position of having access to or owning an aircraft. At Shannon School of Aeronautics, using your aircraft for your instruction is possible. The airplane must meet airworthiness standards, be in a condition acceptable to the primary instructor and the Chief Instructors, and contain instrumentation and controls appropriate for the rating or license sought.
Shannon School of Aeronautics recommends AVEMCO insurance.
